Birth of a Blessing

God has blessed me to be a father. Fortunately, I have been in my daughter’s life from day one, including the day she was born.

For those of you reading this who are fathers, or have witnessed a live birth, you surely understand what an intense experience it is.

I still remember holding my wife’s hand as the doctors stood around and the nurses yelled out ‘push’ until eventually the baby was delivered.

Relief, then joy came when we observed our child appeared to be ok.

And with that one of the biggest blessings in our life had been delivered.

Sometimes I think we forget how blessings are truly delivered to us.

When you plan to have a child you know that you’re going to have to go through labor via natural birth or c-section to have the child.

So why is that we have trouble receiving the other blessings we know the Lord has for us?

Could it be we just want the end result but we don’t want to labor through the process to receive it?

If you’re reading this today I want to encourage you to push through for the provision God has already ordained for you. It won’t necessarily be easy but if you don’t labor for it you won’t truly appreciate it.

God has an abundance of blessings stored up for us in Heaven and He is just waiting for us to push through all of the distractions, doubts, and disappointments to unlock the provisions He has allotted for us.

So how do you unlock the blessings you feel that God has for you?

Let me encourage you to start by following the Psalmist in Psalm 100. Then listen for His voice and the rest will be revealed to you.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
