Ask anyone looking for a spiritual breakthrough and they’ll make some reference to finding a new level or getting to a place where they will find said breakthrough.
Before we get into the Biblical context lets look at a joke often told in this regard.
There is a man who is poor and everyday he prays to the Lord to win the lottery. Time goes by and day after day the man feels that God is not responding to his prayers. He becomes despondent and stops praying for a while. A couple of weeks later a voice awakens him out of his sleep. God asks the man a simple question. How can I bless you with winning the lottery if you never buy a ticket?
How often are waiting for the next level in our lives but we refuse to take the first step?
The only way to hear from God is to study his Word. Without studying you will never be aligned with His perfect will for your life and you’ll be relegated to using cliched phrases like ‘Just waiting on my breakthrough’ and ‘I’m blessed and highly favored’ while never being fully transformed to attain the next level of God’s purpose for your life.
