Sweet to the Taste
Growing up in the south I fell in love with Krispy Kreme donuts.
The glazed donuts were my favorite and I could easily devour the better part of a dozen if you let me.
A couple of years ago I had the pleasure to introduce my daughter to Krispy Kreme donuts.
I remember giving her a bite of a glazed donut and not surprisingly she loved it.
When I asked her what she liked about it, she gleefully replied: ‘It tastes so sweet!’
In Ezekiel 3:1-3 we read about the prophet Ezekiel’s encounter with something more satisfying than food:
And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me this scroll to eat. And he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.
The word of the Lord is always sweet to those who would receive it.
Prayer: Lord, Your word satisfies all my needs and is soothing to my soul. Thank you for loving me!
Action: This week share the word of God and show them how sweet the gospel is.
