In the 1946 film It’s A Wonderful Life, George Bailey wishes he was never born and is taken to an alternate universe where he never existed.

The consequences of his nonexistence were dire: the death of his brother, the ruination of the town pharmacist, his wife lonely, isolated, and unmarried; all part of a backdrop underscoring the overall moral decay of his hometown.

After observing this alternate universe, George wishes to return to the present reality now understanding the importance of his life despite the hardships he is facing.

In 2 Peter 1:3-4, Peter explains that through Jesus the promise of a wonderful life awaits us:

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

A godly life is a wonderful life.

Prayer: Jesus thank You for choosing to give Your life so I could live a better, more wonderful life. I realize that my life matters and Your sacrifice proves that. May I honor You with my actions and witness towards others.

Action: Have you ever watched the movie, It’s A Wonderful Life? It’s my Mom’s favorite movie and it’s an inspirational story for all. Check it out this week.
