Learning To Rest This week I was wrestling with what to share as a devotional topic and scripture. Everything I was reading in scripture and seeing in my life was pointing to one thing: Rest! Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in the things we do rather than the person we are becoming. At first I felt guilty because I was thinking that if I don’t write a devotional this week, what will people think? Am I a fraud, am I lazy? Truthfully, this devotional series doesn’t provide salvation for the reader or the writer, but an alignment with what God wants us to focus on. This week I believe that focus is rest. If you’re like me it’s easier to continue to attack the laundry list of tasks and problems on your todo list rather than to rest. But this week, find a way to rest in the Lord and enjoy the peace He provides. Honor the Sabbath, not the worries of the week. God Bless. Actions: This week read Hebrews 4. Particularly focus on verses 9 and 10 about entering God’s rest. Review: Catch up on past devotionals from the archives at Break Bread, Break Chains. |
