Kevin Simms’ short film, Unqualified, features a young man braving the streets of Baltimore to share the Gospel with all passersby.

After a difficult encounter leaves him mentally and physically broken he is taken in by a fellow believer who renews his strength and encourages him to continue sharing the Gospel.

When he returns to the street he continues to share the Gospel saying: ‘ A lot of us feel like we’re unqualified, we feel like we’re not enough… But the truth is that’s not how God sees [us]… ‘

In Acts 4:13-15 religious leaders are amazed at Peter and John’s authority to teach and perform miracles even though they had no formal qualifications:

When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.

And since they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in opposition.

After they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin, they conferred among themselves, saying, “What should we do with these men?

For an obvious sign has been done through them, clear to everyone living in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

Accepting Jesus fully qualifies you to do the work of the Lord.

Prayer

Lord, I thank You for allowing me to be part of Your Kingdom.

Let me not doubt my authority and qualifications to do the work You’ve given me to accomplish.

Action

Are you unsure if you are qualified for the call God has put on your life?

That’s a common theme in the Bible: Moses, Joseph, David, and many others suffered with doubt and fear about their callings.

The good news is God has fully equipped you to overcome any obstacles for the work He has purposed you for.

This week, spend time reading Exodus Chapter 4 and see how God answered all of the doubts Moses had.
