Though I fly frequently, I don’t always use the same airline. Because of this, I have not acquired preferred status with any particular carrier. Having preferred status with an airline grants a person access to exclusive amenities and perks that are unavailable to other travelers. 1 Peter 2:9-10 and Hebrews 4:14-16 illustrate the elite status we enjoy as God’s children: 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Jesus gives us priority access to God the Father. |
Prayer |
Lord Jesus thank You for your sacrifice that removes any restrictions from our prayers being heard by God the Father. Let us not take for granted the access we have for our requests to be heard and answered by the God Who has created all of Heaven and Earth. Amen. |
