Having watched the original X-Men: The Animated series religiously, I was overjoyed when X-Men ’97 was announced.

The depth and maturity of the new series has me hooked on the X-Men once again.

The new storylines, while appreciated now, would not have been appropriate for me when the show first aired over 30 years ago.

In Hebrews 5:11-14: Paul addresses a group of believers lacking maturity in spiritual matters:

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again.

You need milk, not solid food!

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Spiritual maturity is a reflection of your relationship with Christ.

Prayer

Lord Thank You!

Even though I am not where I want to be I am far from where I was!

Please continue to guide me as I mature spiritually, help me to stay close to You so that I never miss hearing your voice.

Amen.

Action

Spiritual growth is a constant journey that doesn’t always move forward.

But this week, celebrate the progress you have made in certain areas of your life (marriage, finance, parenting, etc)
and ask God to help you continue to grow in these areas.
