| A few weeks ago I spoke to my parents after they had recently returned from traveling. While they had a great time on their trip they were glad to finally be home. There’s nothing that can replace that feeling when you’ve finally made it home. In John 14:1-4, Jesus informs His disciples of a special place He’s getting ready for them: Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. Jesus is preparing a place for you to call home. |
Prayer |
| Lord, thank You. I know that one day You will call me to my eternal home. While I can’t begin to imagine the wonders of what You have prepared for me, my hope rests solely in Your Goodness. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Amen. |
Action |
| While we have assurance from Christ for our eternity, life is not something to be taken for granted. This week seek God’s counsel on your life’s current path. Ask Him to align your heart with His. |
