Is It in You?
In the late 90s Gatorade ran a unique ad campaign featuring Michael Jordan.
One of the commercials simply showed Jordan sitting down in a chair drenched profusely in a sweat colored like Gatorade.
There are no words spoken in the commercial, but at the end there is one phrase displayed prominently.
Gatorade, Is It In You?
While perspiring colored droplets of a popular sports drink is one way to indicate what’s on the inside of you, in Matthew 7:15-20 Jesus teaches us another way to determine what’s on the inside of a person:
Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves. You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.
The Spirit of the Lord is inside all of those who do the will of The Father.
Prayer: Lord, let the world see that Your Spirit resides in me! Guide my actions for all to see that You live in me.
