Because of COVID-19 many people began working from home last year.
But a couple of years before the global pandemic started my best friend was ahead of the curve.
He landed a job that allowed him to work from home, but more importantly he longed for his wife to be able to do the same.
However, at that time no one at his wife’s job was allowed to work remotely.
When his wife shared that information he simply told her to ask if she could work remotely.
Their faith was rewarded as her job granted her request to work from home.
In Matthew 8:5-10,13 we see Jesus reward the request of a centurion:
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.
“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”
Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
Jesus grants the requests of those who truly seek Him in faith and believe.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me life. Thank You for all of the things You’ve given me. Create a heart in me where my only request is to be in Your presence.
Action: Jesus is not a wishing well, but He does grant the desires of our heart when we abide in Him. This week ask Jesus how you can abide in Him.
