One thing we learned in the pandemic is that many people tend to hoard things in a crisis.

Things like hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and toilet paper were items that were in short supply during the height of the pandemic.

The uncertainty in difficult times often causes people to put their faith into what they can tangibly hold onto or possess.

In 2 Kings 4:42-44, we see how God provides when people are faced with the uncertainty of provision:

A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said. “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’” Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

There is always abundance in the presence of God.

Prayer: Lord help me to seek your presence. For too long I have put my faith in the provisions I have acquired. Help me to put my faith in you Jehovah Jireh, You are more than enough.

Action: What are you longing for? Be honest with yourself. Make a list of the things your heart desires most. Ask God to align your desires with His will for your life.
