Recently, the term nepo baby has been making headlines.

A number of actors, entertainers, musicians, and other industry leaders have faced harsh criticism equating their success solely to their parents influence or connections.

While nepotism might be frowned upon by some, finding favor because of one’s relationship with God is a common theme discussed throughout the Bible.

In Ephesians 1:11-14, the Apostle Paul discusses the great inheritance we are in line to receive by simply believing in Jesus:

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation.

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Salvation is given freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You that I don’t have to earn my salvation. Simply by believing in You I have inherited the great riches of Your Kingdom.

Action: We don’t work to earn God’s approval. His grace and mercy are given freely to those who believe. This week allow yourself to receive this truth as you seek the Lord.
