As a child, the phrase ‘We now pause for station identification‘ was something I often heard when watching television.

I never thought too much of it but I always wondered why stations had to identify themselves.

Recently, I researched the topic further and learned that station identification is a requirement for television and radio stations to adhere to the guidelines of their respective licensing authorities.

In Matthew 3:13-17  we see Jesus identified as the Son of the Most High:

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him.

But John tried to stop him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?”

Jesus answered him, “Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.”

Then John allowed him to be baptized. When Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water.

The heavens suddenly opened for him,[e] and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him.

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.”

The  Lord clearly identifies all those who serve Him.

Prayer

Lord thank You for identifying me as Your child!

Today I repent of anything that would keep me from being known as Yours.

Let those I interact with know that I serve You and may You be glorified through my actions.

Action

By what do people identify me?

This week ask God this question

Listen for His answer and let Him guide you towards the identity He desires for you.
